Every week as you stand before your people to share God’s Word, they’re bringing different worldviews into the room. What are some of these worldviews?


1. The one with the most toys wins.
This is the worldview of materialism – and it can be summed up with one world, more. Materialism says that the only thing that really matters in life is acquiring things. Those who subscribe to this worldview live mostly to collect things.

2. I’ve got to think of me first.
We live in a “me first,” serve-yourself world that says it’s all about you. Commercial slogans cater to this viewpoint. Slogans like, “have it your way,” “we do it all for you,” “obey your thirst,” “you’ve got to think of what’s best for yourself,” and “You deserve it.”

3. Do what feels good.
This is hedonism – the belief that the most important thing in life is how we feel. The number one goal of a hedonist is to feel good, be comfortable, and have fun.

4. Whatever works for you.
This worldview says it doesn’t matter if it’s right or wrong. It doesn’t matter if it hurts anybody or not. If it works for you, fine. As that great theologian Sly Stone says, “Different strokes for different folks.”

5. God doesn’t exist.
This worldview is naturalism or atheism. Naturalists believe that everything in life is a result of random chance. We’re all accidents of nature. There is no grand creator or grand design. God either doesn’t exist or he doesn’t matter.

6. You are your own God.
This worldview, otherwise known as humanism, is very popular in the Western world. It says we are the mastermind of our own fate, the determiner of our destiny. You’ll hear this in the new age movement as well: “You’re divine. You’re a god.”

God Has His Reasons

Some people are planners.
They like thinking ahead and being prepared.
They get a high from being on top of things.
But some things are beyond planning.
And life doesn't always turn out as planned.

You don't plan for a broken heart.
You don't plan for a failed business venture.
You don't plan for an autistic child.
You don't plan for spinsterhood.
You don't plan for a lump in your breast.

You plan to be young forever.
You plan to climb the corporate ladder.
You plan to be rich and powerful.
You plan to be acclaimed and successful.
You plan to conquer the universe.
You plan to fall in love - and be loved forever.

You don't plan to be sad or hurt.
You don't plan to be broke or betrayed.
You don't plan to be alone in this world.
You don't plan to be shattered.

You plan to be happy.

Sometimes if you work hard enough, you can get what you want.
But most times, what you want and what you get are not the same.
We, mortals, plan. But so does God in the heavens.
Sometimes, it is difficult to understand God's plans especially when His plans are not in consonance with ours.

Often, when God sends us crisis, we turn to Him in anger.
True, we cannot choose the cross that God wishes us to carry, but we can carry that cross with courage knowing that God will never abandon us nor send something we cannot cope with.

Sometimes, God breaks our spirit to save our soul.
Sometimes, He breaks our heart to make us whole.
Sometimes, God sends us pain so we can be stronger.
Sometimes, God sends us failure so we can be humble.
Sometimes God sends us illness so we can take better care of ourselves.
Sometimes, God takes everything away from us so we can learn the value of everything He gave us.

September's Higher Ground Session

teeeehehehehe...

We have a rare appearance of a speaker, who was formerly one of the enthusiast for the HG cause... Yes Bro. Jonathan.W is gonna come and bless us with his videos...message! He's gonna be speaking on a theme (oh too common for a line) You're The Man!

From my definition, it's like a hip hoppers way of saying "i respect you"...but that's certainly not what he's gonna be saying all night! Definitely nothing as cheesy (yes our speaker likes that word, cheesy) as my definition would be...

There will also be a short display of video...
I was briefed that the content of the video is not explicit, but it's highly infectious to ones' emotions. So if I were you, I'd prepare my heart for whatever it may be. I hope I don't end up having multiple emotions all mixed together.

Well anyway, for this months' session, we're having Jamie.T from GCC to lead the brood of her alignment to bring forth a session of praise and worship, with Joel.C from GCC on his sporting black electric guitar and hopefully with some metal distortions with his pedals, Mike from GCC on the acoustic, also a black Yamaha lady, and then there's Rufus.C from GCC on the bass making a stance of his own style, Li Ann from Maranatha Hope will be the keyboardist with her frozen fingers icing up some desserts on the pieces along with her choir-trained vocals as backup vocals. Not forgetting Paul from GCC on the drums with his shinier-than-his-teeth Zildjian cymbals to splash the ambience not a lil', but A LOT perhaps...

Now, what the...all of GCC brood...what happened to musicians from other churches!? *swt*


Anyway here are the pertinent details to this months' session:

Papers Unite

Let's assume a piece of paper is wedged on both ends
And someone takes a pen, a standard pen you normally use to write, draw or what not - vandalize
That someone plunges the pen towards the center of that piece of paper..
Almost undeniably definitely that the pen will cause a hole right in the center and perhaps
even tearing the piece of paper into two because of the force pummeled onto that thin piece of paper?
The tearing is an effect of the piece of paper being too thin.


Now if that same fragile and thin piece of paper is stacked?
Let's now assume not A piece of paper, but a stack! ...say about 200 pieces of paper?
and these papers are also wedged on both ends and then the same someone,
that someone takes the same normal standard pen, and pummels it right at the center of that stack of papers...
Logically and obviously that the pen will only accomplish nothing but butting a hole on the first few pieces of paper, but they are supported by many more sheets of paper at the back and the pen can no longer force its way through if the papers were stacked!


Now simply personify the paper to YOU, and the someone being SATAN with the pen meaning EVERYTHING NASTY TO BRING YOU DOWN.

I'm sorry, I just like the movie, albeit it being a violent movie with blood and gore, but I still love it because it made me think;

How? You may ask...

His ability so profoundly to make a sentence with so many words beginning with the letter V and yet still maintain the meaning of the sentence, that is one good walking dictionary.

And ideals, where freedom and justice are not just words, but a perspective.




The relation that I can form is this:

The world brainwashes everyone to follow normality and majority, and when the minority makes a stand for their beliefs, they will face persecutions and threats, and the majority won't give up to overpowering the minority, unless the minority fights back with brains, using their minds to fight not with violence, but with Love. As it is stated in the bible that the greatest commandment is Love one another.

Out of love, V stood up form the minority and made a mark in history, marking November 5th. Making metaphors out of personification on oneself in a paradoxical manner.
My advice: Don't watch a movie as it is but see what is within.

Outcome?

I remember the verse saying: When two or three are gathered, there I am (and there I was)

now this verse speaks clearly to everyone present in COP on the 16th of September 2007
We started off with some sharing, oh~ sorry, those present were David.R from KBC, Vincent.T from CPC, Kelven from Shalom, Amos.P from GCC and myself...despite the number but clasped together, we form a fist yo!

As I was saying, we started off with some sharing, the sharing was kinda lengthy because all of us was sharing? And we were laughing our heads off sharing about our week, telling each other about the ghost festival and about someone getting drunk and also everyone was making pronunciation errors hilariously funny that we laughed every now and then.

We went from playful talks to serious talks, one that opens up everyones' mind if you ask me. It wasn't like just saying ONE thing, but it was like pouring rain! The conversation keeps going on and on and on and we were more or less having a "meeting" there despite only a 'fist' of us.

And the time was catching up on us, we had to conclude with a prayer. YES! The group of 'fist' prayed. It's a COP lah~ what do you expect? And the things we talked and shared about ranges from people (not backstabbing nor gossiping - not good), Higher Ground, ways to improve, experiences, thoughts, ideas, laughters, and more laughters. Overall, the 'fist' prayed and concluded it. Everyone was feeling pleased after the COP! Yeah!

There aren't any more details to this times' COP, as I was given only a handful of informations, but I will be going to indulge myself with some conversations with God, together with the group and also to know them better. Why? So that we have an understanding between two or more denominations and have that same vision for Kuantan. See you there hopefully.

RIGHT and left

David was walking back home from school when he saw his friend Goliath ahead of him pulling his hands out from his side pockets, and along his $5 note dropped to the ground, all crumpled up like a piece of rubbish. Goliath already went in and David is standing in front of Goliaths' front yard, thinking whether to just take the $5 note or return to Goliath immediately. David knew that it's wrong to take another person's money because it didn't belong to him. If David took the $5 note, he would feel guilty because he knew he'd done something wrong; and because he knew that by taking the $5 note is wrong, he's now in a dilemma from temptation: to take or to return. David finally decided to take the money. He walked along the pathways straight to the door and rang the bell, Goliath came out and David told him that he dropped his money and returned it to Goliath. Goliath then thanked David and then invited him to come in and play with him on his brand-new-not-even-an-hour-ago-newly-bought Xbox.

My Son


A wealthy man and his son loved to collect rare works of art. They had
everything in their collection, from Picasso to Raphael. They would often
sit together and admire the great works of art.


When the Vietnam conflict broke out, the son went to war. He was very
courageous and died in battle while rescuing another soldier. The father
was notified and grieved deeply for his only son.


About a month later, just before Christmas, there was a knock at the door.
A young man stood at the door with a large package in his hands.


He said, "Sir, you don't know me, but I am the soldier for whom your son
gave his life. He saved many lives that day, and he was carrying me to
safety when a bullet struck him in the heart and he died instantly. He
often talked about you, and your love for art." The young man held out this
package. "I know this isn't much. I'm not really a great artist, but I
think your son would have wanted you to have this."


The father opened the package. It was a portrait of his son, painted by the
young man. He stared in awe at the way the soldier had captured the
personality of his son in the painting. The father was so drawn to the eyes
that his own eyes welled up with tears. He thanked the young man and
offered to pay him for the picture. "Oh, no sir, I could never repay what
your son did for me. It's a gift."


The father hung the portrait over his mantle. Every time visitors came to
his home he took them to see the portrait of his son before he showed them
any of the other great works he had collected.


The man died a few months later. There was to be a great auction of his
paintings. Many influential people gathered, excited over seeing the great
paintings and having an opportunity to purchase one for their collection.


On the platform sat the painting of the son. The auctioneer pounded his
gavel. "We will start the bidding with this picture of the son. Who will
bid for this picture?"


There was silence.


Then a voice in the back of the room shouted, "We want to see the famous
paintings. Skip this one."


But the auctioneer persisted.. "Will somebody bid for this painting. Who
will start the bidding? $100, $200?"

Another voice angrily. "We didn't come to see this painting. We came to see
the Van Goghs, the Rembrandts. Get on with the real bids!"


But still the auctioneer continued. "The son! The son! Who'll take the son?"


Finally, a voice came from the very back of the room. It was the longtime
gardener of the man and his son. "I'll give $10 for the painting." Being a
poor man, it was all he could afford.



"We have $10, who will bid $20?"






"Give it to him for $10. Let's see the masters."





"$10 is the bid, won't someone bid $20?"





The crowd was becoming angry.. They didn't want the picture of the son.






They wanted the more worthy investments for their collections.






The auctioneer pounded the gavel. "Going once, twice, SOLD for $10!"




A man sitting on the second row shouted, "Now let's get on with the collection!"


The auctioneer laid down his gavel. "I'm sorry, the auction is over."






"What about the paintings?"


"I am sorry. When I was called to conduct this auction, I was told of a
secret stipulation in the will. I was not allowed to reveal that
stipulation until this time. Only the painting of the son would be
auctioned. Whoever bought that painting would inherit the entire estate,
including the paintings.

The man who took the son gets everything!"




God gave His son 2,007 years ago to die on the cross. Much like the
auctioneer, His message today is: "The son, the son, who'll take the son?"

Because, you see, whoever takes the Son gets everything.

Faith or Observance of the Law

1You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified. 2I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by observing the law, or by believing what you heard? 3Are you so foolish? After beginning with the Spirit, are you now trying to attain your goal by human effort? 4Have you suffered so much for nothing—if it really was for nothing? 5Does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you because you observe the law, or because you believe what you heard?

6Consider Abraham: "He believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness."[a] 7Understand, then, that those who believe are children of Abraham. 8The Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: "All nations will be blessed through you."[b] 9So those who have faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.

10All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law."[c] 11Clearly no one is justified before God by the law, because, "The righteous will live by faith."[d] 12The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, "The man who does these things will live by them."[e] 13Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree."[f] 14He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.

The Law and the Promise

15Brothers, let me take an example from everyday life. Just as no one can set aside or add to a human covenant that has been duly established, so it is in this case. 16The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. The Scripture does not say "and to seeds," meaning many people, but "and to your seed,"[g] meaning one person, who is Christ. 17What I mean is this: The law, introduced 430 years later, does not set aside the covenant previously established by God and thus do away with the promise. 18For if the inheritance depends on the law, then it no longer depends on a promise; but God in his grace gave it to Abraham through a promise.

19What, then, was the purpose of the law? It was added because of transgressions until the Seed to whom the promise referred had come. The law was put into effect through angels by a mediator. 20A mediator, however, does not represent just one party; but God is one.

21Is the law, therefore, opposed to the promises of God? Absolutely not! For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law. 22But the Scripture declares that the whole world is a prisoner of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe.

23Before this faith came, we were held prisoners by the law, locked up until faith should be revealed. 24So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ[h] that we might be justified by faith. 25Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law.

Sons of God
26You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, 27for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Discipline Teacher : Jacob, do you know why you're brought here to see me?

Jacob : Nope (although he knew)

Discipline Teacher : Now now Jacob, do you know that throwing papers at girls is not a nice thing to do?

Jacob : I don't (although he purposely threw them to irritate)

Discipline Teacher : Jacob, everyone in class saw you threw the papers, and I saw you doing it myself.

Jacob : You must've gotten the wrong person, sir. (trying to push his luck)

Discipline Teacher : Jacob, would I question you if you didn't do anything wrong?

Jacob : *speechless*

Discipline Teacher : Jacob, then tell me, if it wasn't you I saw, who was it then?

Jacob : OH! It was another Jacob from the next block! (there's only one Jacob in school - him)

Discipline Teacher : *frustrated* Jacob, can you show me this "Jacob" you're referring to then?

Jacob : *instantly replying* I can't, sir! Becausee....erh, he's probably hiding somewhere.

Discipline Teacher : Jacob, do you know that in this school, you're the only boy named Jacob?

Jacob : erhh..no i don't... (although he knew)

Discipline Teacher : Jacob. Wouldn't it be better if you just be honest rather than lying once and saying another lie to cover the previous lie?

Jacob : *paused* ...but I didn't lie!

Discipline Teacher : Look at yourself Jacob, you're trying to cover another lie with that?

Jacob : *speechless*

Discipline Teacher : Jacob, because you lied not once, but all the while just to cover up ONE lie, you leave me with no choice but to call up your parents.

Jacob : (tears starts to pour)

Discipline Teacher : I'm sorry Jacob, I've given you many chances to tell me truthfully but you chose to lie to me, now go to the waiting room in the next room, Jacob.

Natalie's Faith



Natalie, in short, Nat is a happy-go-lucky gal. She is 8 years old. Her parents are divorced, her brother is in another foster home in Pennsylvania while she's in New York. At that age, she has already learn to post mails to her brother and to her parents both living in "different continents" ...


Despite her age, she's grown independent. She knows how to take the train and walks to class everyday after playing with her gold fish. She changes their water every week to avoid them falling ill.

Nat knows by what time she should go back home as the streets in New York can get really dangerous for her. She's seen a lady being mugged in the alley sometime around dusk and that poor lady lost her jeweleries including her handbag. That made her cautious of her time out of home.

Nat although only 8 years old, always carries a pepper spray with her whenever she goes out. Her foster parents always nags her about being careful when she's out all by herself. Well Nat insists that she wants to go to class everyday by her own because she doesn't want to burden her foster parents. Her foster parents love her very much. Every night they would sit down at the living and watch a movie or play charades together.

Although Nat's foster parents aren't Christians, but they sure love her very much because Nat is such an obedient girl. Her biological parents would write her a mail once in a blue moon. She's not blaming her biological parents for where she is now, although she misses them a lot because she knows that God is in control.

Nat's kind and strong character at such a young age inspires her foster parents. Despite they're busy with work everyday but Nat knows that they are busy working to provide her a roof above her head and also to pay off apartment rents and car rents. Therefore she being such an understanding girl will not burden her foster parents.

Nat's capability to think like a young adult assures her foster parents that she'll be alright. They even bought her a cellphone for emergency's sake. Nat never abuses her freedom nor the trust her foster parents have. Although Nat has a liking for the colour black, and it seems awfully strange for a bubbly loving girl like her to like the colour black, it's nothing weird for her although it strikingly stands out because she's a girl. The perception of most adults is that girls will like the colour pink or light purple or lilac or cyan. She just likes it black.

She even got her room to be painted with black glossy paint, and her cabinets are also black in colour. Her reason for her liking: so that when she turns on the light, she is affirmed and comforted by the thought that in this world filled with darkness generally grouping the bad and mean things in the world, that there is Light to shine a path; a way out from the darkness, and that despite being black everything, one flick of the switch and brightness will drown the blackness.

Her thoughts was naively cute because at only the age of 8, she has already known the Light, and with a simple faith she braves the world alongside Him with her foster parents and biological parents and her brother with hopes that never ceases in her heart that in the darkness in the world, there is also brightness...

Journey To Hell

This is a conversation you might have with him...



Let's go for a walk, a long walk down memory lane

I will bring you to my place, just follow me past the myriad looking statues grimly staring back, crouching on the pillars between the gates of hell..

Don't worry, they won't bite you as they're the guardians on their post, besides, you're walking with me...

Now now, just hold my hands...I won't let go of your hands, just clasp me as tightly as you want

if you're tired just tell me and we'll rest by the skeletal bench anywhere you want it to be

Don't be afraid of the many hands trying to get a hold of you, they're envious cause you're new...

We invest fully on heaters, we don't really like the freezing cold, so it's always summer here, there will be many clad in bikinis and tanning...

We even have our very own Aurora Borealis or you would call it the Northern Lights, here - it's known as "Bright Lights" ...there's even a display of flames as you observe it over the burnt hills

Over here everyone is very hardworking, they are given a job they will do for life...oh they "love" their job, why, they would even die just doing their job! It's THAT hot of a job as u can say it...

Are you tired yet? don't worry about the soles on your feet.
It's normal if you feel a pricking burning sensation, relax..
just hold on to me if you're afraid...

Over there, do you recognize some of them? I know they've crossed your path in life once, they use to throw abusive words at you, and now they're glad to see you ... that guy over in the abyss pit near the disenchanted rock, I know he once beat you up, well he'll get his punishment for life here, don't worry...

"Look over there! That looks like a beautiful and pretty wilted scorched flower"

...here have it, can you smell the burnt? It grows through a pollination of ashes, say, do you remember why you're walking with me to my place..?

I've prepared a special place with a common job for you to do for life, it's a job to die for! Everyone will get their chance to earn this job during their lifetime...and now I'm proud to say that you've earned your place in Hell with me, your job will be easy to do:

all you have to do is make a decision every 5 minutes, there will be only one option to the same problem in which you must resolve, and that sole option is always the opposite be correct... and if you don't decide on that option, you'll be dipped in hellish waters, mind you, the water has already exceeded boiling point...don't say I didn't warn you




Now, if you have any inquiries or acquire any form of assistance, you can just wail or scream for my minions who will be your supervisors, its name is Demon. There are many of them with the same name because they're many in one.
