ONE

One day, I was born into this world;
One day I spoke my first word..
One day I went to kindergarten,
and it was there that I met my first school friend!
One day I moved into primary school..
and realized how insignificant I was.
After six years, I completed primary education
and saw myself one day going into secondary school.
One day I felt a strange feeling,
like an infatuation towards the opposite gender;
and one day I expressed my feelings..
but I was rejected because we were still young.
One day I joined my friends to CF
and found out that Jesus wasn't all about hallelujahs.
One day I was serving in church...
from a church-goer to one of the youth leaders.
One day I had to sit for my major exams,
and I told God, one day I will go back to serving You.
That one day came, and I told God,
"One day I will serve You day and night, but after I finish college".
One day, I completed my tertiary education,
and I was lovingly in a relationship,
and I told God, "One day I will rededicate my life to You"...
and one day I got married and with 2 kids.
Everyday working earning a living to support the family
and coming back home all weary and tired,
had my family financially and emotionally secured
and one day I lie there,
looking at the flashbacks of my life
knowing that one day I will see You face to face,
breathing my last breath
as I pass away having a heart failure
at the young age of 38.

..that one day with You did not come all these years..

The End of Samson

©2006-2009 julioferreira

Judges 16:29-30
29 Then Samson reached toward the two central pillars on which the temple stood. Bracing himself against them, his right hand on the one and his left hand on the other, 30 Samson said, "Let me die with the Philistines!" Then he pushed with all his might, and down came the temple on the rulers and all the people in it. Thus he killed many more when he died than while he lived.

1 John 2:18-19
18Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour. 19They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.

Welcome

©2008-2009 LurkerPatrol

Mr. Z was on his holiday in Malaysia. He was at Kuala Lumpur in the weekends so he decided to go to one of the local churches around the area where he lives. At the church, there was a line of ushers welcoming people. The ushers were extending their hands to warmly greet the people so Mr. Z extended his and shook their hands. As he was about to clasp the hands of the usher, the usher retracted his hands and the handshake was merely a touch on the fingertip. Finding that oddly weird of a handshake, he waited till the service was over and went and ask the usher out of curiosity, "Excuse me, but I was wondering if it was the custom of a handshake to just touch the fingertips?". The usher replied, "No larh..I just didn't want to dirty my hands from all the handshake."

Mr. Z grinned with disbelief and bode him goodbye, wondering in his heart "I wonder if Jesus was thinking the same..".

John 21:15-19
Jesus Reinstates Peter
15When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these?"
"Yes, Lord," he said, "you know that I love you."
Jesus said, "Feed my lambs."

16Again Jesus said, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me?"
He answered, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you."
Jesus said, "Take care of my sheep."

17 The third time he said to him, "Simon son of John, do you love me?"
Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, "Do you love me?" He said, "Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you."

Jesus said, "Feed my sheep. 18 I tell you the truth, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go." 19Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. Then he said to him, "Follow me!"

Just As I Am

Stricken with long term disability at age 30, Charlotte Elliot spent many years hating God for the suffering He had visited upon her. Unbeknown to Charlotte, God was orchestrating her pain to blossom into joy in Christ and produce the fruit of hundreds of hymns, including the song 'Just As I Am', which would become the soundtrack of joy for millions of future believers.

Just as I am without one plea
But that Thy blood was shed for me,
And that Thou bidd’st me come to Thee,
O Lamb of God, I come! I come!

Just as I am, and waiting not
To rid my soul of one dark blot,
To Thee, whose blood can cleanse each spot
Lamb of God, I come! I come!

Just as I am, though tossed about
With many a conflict, many a doubt,
Fightings within, and fears without,
O Lamb of God, I come! I come!

Just as I am, poor, wretched, blind
Sight, riches, healing of the mind
Yea, all in need, in Thee to find,
O Lamb of God I come! I come!

Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,
Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve
Because, Thy promise I believe
O Lamb of God, I come! I come!

Just as I am, Thy love unknown
Hath broken every barrier down;
Now, to be Thine, yea Thine alone,
O Lamb of God, I come! I come!
