Hugs

There’s something in a simple hug

That always warms the hearts:

And makes it easier to part.


A hug’s a way to share the joy

The Gift


A long long time ago
on a cold and windy night
A little boy knelt down
And prayed with all his might

For he so wanted a gift
Greater than any he has asked before
He prayed to God above
In the name of Jesus our Lord

He then went to bed dreaming
of his precious gift to come
For he believed it would happen
And he knew it would be done

He awoke the next morning
And touched the cold frozen window
Christmas day was finally here
So he ran downstairs and said hello

To the man at the counter
Who is always there
He ran the orphanage
And never seemed to care

But the boy was always nice
And polite to this old man
And helped him with chores
And many errands he ran

But today was different you see
Today was going to be grand
Today was going to be heard
All across the land

The boy then asked the old man
Has any one come to visit us today?
The old man just shrugged
Then shook his head in a puzzling way

The boy then thought about the gift
The gift that he prayed for last night
And he then told the old man
He prayed for Jesus to give him his sight

The boy was blind and could not see
And has never seen a light
His mother died when he was three
His Father died in the fight

The old man just looked at the boy
And said do you really think you'll see?
The boy just smiled and said
I know Jesus heard my plea

The old man touched the boy
And led him to the door
He turned the knob and opened it wide
The cold air blew across his face and the floor

A power then came into the boy
He then felt heat and was no longer cold
The old man became worried
But remembered what the boy had told

The boy then stood up
And he looked at the old man
And he said to him there
“You see, I told you Jesus can!”

The old man looked on
with a very astonished face,
“Do you see me standing?
Do you see this place?”

The boy then shouted,
“I see, I see
Oh Thank you Jesus
I see, I see”

A Christmas miracle was heard around town
As a young boy now sees for the very first time
A young couple heard of the news
And rushed to the orphanage and got in line

Every child there
was adopted that day
except the boy
who wanted to stay

He asked the old man
If he could remain
A friend to him
In Jesus name, Amen.

Footprints

One night a man had a dream. He dreamt he was walking along the beach with the LORD. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two pairs of footprints in the sand, one belonging to him and the other to the LORD.


When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one pair of footprints in the sand. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life.


This really bothered him and he questioned the LORD about it. “LORD, you said that once I decided to follow you, you’d walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one pair of footprints. I don’t understand why when I needed you most you would leave me.”


The LORD replied, “My precious, precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trails and suffering, when you see only one pair of footprints, it was then that I carried you.”

...praying is the essential needs of a christian, it's not about praying but the communication and the relationship we have with God, say for instance that if we don't speak to our friends at school for a week - our friends would feel that we're isolating ourselves from them and thus we'll get the cold shoulder the next time, but it's different when the friend is waiting for us to speak to them...likewise this Friend is waiting for us to speak to Him, for without a relationship with Him...we're treading life all on our own.

exceptionally splendid with so hearty worship and the song lead by Abi was indeed catchy...

~~ Waiting On The Lord ~~

Desperately, helplessly, longingly, I cried.
Quietly, patiently, lovingly God replied.
I pled and I wept for a clue to my fate,
And the Master so gently said, "Child, you must wait!"

"Wait?', you say, wait!" my indignant reply.
"Lord, I need answers, I need to know why!
Is your hand shortened? Or have you not heard?
By FAITH I have asked, and am claiming your word."

"My future and all to which I can relate
Hangs in the balance, and you tell me to WAIT?

An 18 year old Italian girl tells her Mom that she has missed her
period for 2 months. Very worried, the mother goes to the drugstore and
buys a pregnancy kit. The test result shows that the girl is pregnant.

Shouting, cursing, crying, the mother says, "who was the pig that did
this to you? I want to know!"

The girl picks up the phone and makes a call. Half an hour later, a
Ferrari stops in front of their house. A mature and distinguished man
with grey hair and impeccably dressed in an Armani suit steps out of the
of the Ferrari and enters the house.

He sits in the living room with the father, mother, and the girl and
tells them:

"Good morning, your daughter has informed me of the problem. I can't
marry her because of my personal family situation but I'll take charge.

I will pay all costs and provide for your daughter for the rest of her
life.

Additionally, if a girl is born, I will bequeath a Ferrari, 2 retail
stores, a townhouse, a beach front villa, and a $2,000,000 bank account. If a boy is born, my legacy will be a couple of factories and a
$4,000,000 bank account. If twins, they will receive a factory and
$2,000,000 each.

However, if there is a miscarriage, what do you suggest I do?"

At this point, the father, who had remained silent, places a hand
firmly on the man's shoulder and tells him,


"You try again."

August's Higher Ground Session

HEY! INDEPENDENCE MONTH!
Less than
3 weeks till Independence Day for Malaysia!!
Oh the wait for that auspicious day...with that
we shall Wait Upon the Lord as well...and that shall be the theme for Augusts' HG Session!





Jazz from WMC will be chairing this month's session and im expecting to see her transform from that beauty [i mean the Porsche hehe] Ooh i can't wait actually to see cosplaying for that night~
Abi and i will be doing the ice breaker... [im so gonna break some bone ice]


Worship session will be led by the senior HigherGrounders and im pushing up the level of their musicianship and their skill a step higher since they're all experienced musicians, we will be having Michel from GCC on lead vocals, Gary.C from KBC on the electric guitar doing his 'thang' revving up distorts, Michael.O from GCC on acoustics soulfully strumming his way for heaven to echo back, Abi from WMC on the bass once again with his gold baby bringing down the house with his monster solo, and A-ron.P from GCC whacking symbols all the way clinging and clanging to even Abi's gravity while Jamie.T from GCC hits some striking note on the keys bringing about harmony between A-ron.P and Abi. Michel will be backed by Abi on vocals as well.


A sweet yet concrete topic unfolds by Bro. Joel going closely to the theme "Waiting Upon The Lord" and i am waiting to see what proverbial sayings can i grasp from him this time. He speaks with authority and with such confidence in him that at some point you can't fall asleep because the decibel hits home on the drums, ear drums mind you. Hehe.

Higher Ground July `07



Does anyone of you remember what was the message about last Higher Ground Session held in Kuantan Baptist Church (KBC) for the month of July? [i doubt it]



Therefore I shall be the one to kick ya'll in the butt refresh your memory:

Brother Raj mentioned a familiar character in the bible: Joseph the dreamer [well that's what I call him]
Speaking of which, in Genesis 37, it mentions that Joseph had a dream and he told the dream to his envious brothers and because Joseph is the apple of the eye of his father, the brothers decided to exile him by selling him to the Midianites [d] and they in return sold him to Potiphar.

Joseph went from one bad thing after another, after his brothers sold him, he ends up in a mess with the Egyptians and then Pharaoh himself and then and so forth . . .

Joseph remained faithful despite being in a least comfortable place to spend a night or a more, and for his faithfulness he held on to God's promises.

Joseph persevered despite all the hardship banging him on the head head on, it is very difficult to persevere; and the hardest is when one of our loved ones passed on, that would be the hardest for one to hold on to sanity because you won't be listening to that person's mumbling grumbling talking nor even see him/her. Joseph persevered despite being accused and having the hangman's noose on him next.

Pharaoh had a dream: and this dream, all the magicians and wise men in Egypt couldn't encrypt it...all except Joseph! And because of that ability that Joseph has, the Pharaoh spared Joseph from any sentence on him and made him second in command.

41 So Pharaoh said to Joseph, "I hereby put you in charge of the whole land of Egypt."


Joseph's promotion from a mere kid to someone with authority
[with great powers comes great responsibility - quoted from our friendly neighborhood Spider-man]

And there was drought in the lands because Pharaoh's dreams came true!
Joseph's brothers came from a far to get some grains for food from him because he was the one who stored the grains to prepare for the drought.


[the most likely action Joseph would take in most people's opinion would be to let them starve for selling Joseph away...]

But Joseph was thinking otherwise.



God has a plan for every one of us, if only we will just move our ass feet and let it walk.

The story revolves around Joseph and there were 3 points leading it:
1. The Promise!
2. ..with perseverance..
3. Sweet Promotion.


That was the message part, as for worship, it was a spectacular session done by PG165 as it got everyone to move their 'ehem' around lah`...

I'm sure they had fun while they were in Kuantan;

Unload. . .

Comprising the uprising local talents in Christian music, belting out their best, grooving with the likes of a double-edged sword smashing strongholds down; consisting at least 4 bands shaking up a storm in this (formerly known as remote) our very hometown Kuantan! They'll spare our ears with a different side of Christian music, other than the common ones we always hear such as Hillsong and Planet Shakers. With their own rendition genre of rock alt grunge punk nu metal contemporary acoustic, it's all gonna sound rather unique to be grouping these elements under Christian music. They're one of the finest in Malaysia, growing fast sharing with all their passion for Christian music and showing the people that music is also another form of evangelizing. They're astute in the sense of their musical gifts, having do solo's like Steve Vai on the electric guitars and multi-changeable beats like Mike Portnoy and jazzing up some bass like Paul Chambers or being classy and hip like Vitalij Kuprij on the keyboard setting the ambiance to soothe the spirit. So music alone would be a boredom, so there's lyrics to go with it, try soulful sentences to go with the rhythm, or touching lines and catchy phrases to fit the note. It would sound like harps and lyres playing in heaven with God constantly assuring our insecurities. Of course there would be a short message by an invited speaker from the band who also happens to be a Pastor himself!


I'm looking forward to this event not because it is a music "concert" alone, but because it takes a lot of determination and heart to bring together something spectacularly common to share with the community.




SADLY...due to undefined dysfunctions, THIS EVENT WON'T BE A REALITY.

Numeric

You might like it. This is hilarious.....even an Englishman could not construct
sentences using numeric, which is exclusive only to Malaysians and
Singaporeans.

Ah Lek was asked to make a sentence using 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.
Not only did he do it 1 to 10, he did it again from 10 back to 1. This is what
he came up with.....




1 day I go 2 climb a 3 outside a house to peep. But the couple saw me, so I panic
and 4 down. The man rushed out and wanted to 5 with me. I ran until I fell 6 and
threw up. So I go into 7-eleven and grabbed some 8 to throw at him. Then I took
a 9 and try to stab at him. 10 God he run away.



10 I put the 9 back and pay for the 8 and left 7-eleven. Next day I called my
boss and told him I was 6. He said 5 , tomorrow also no need to come back 4 work.
He also asked me to go climb a 3 and jump down. I don't understand. I am so nice

him but I don't know what he 1.

He represents Malaysia as the UKA’s certified and qualified hip-hop dance teacher by providing professional examinations, student medal test and scrutinizing exams of every dance style. Fact or Fiction

Include all types of suffering, and it is true to say that literally millions of people have suffered without it lessening their devotion to Jesus. In fact, they insist it was God’s comfort, love and inspiration that gave them the power to endure.

 It was once claimed that according to the science of flight bumble-bees cannot fly. But people who know bumblebees could not be fooled. They might not have a scientific answer, but they know bumblebees fly. Similarly, people who really know God, even those who have suffered as much as is humanly possible, know what they know:
God’s love is as endless as his power. Gaining knowledge this way might not satisfy scientific curiosity, but it is truth proven by cold reality.

Boredom

Living in Kuantan for 2 decades now, I feel that Kuantan is indeed boring and a dead place...
there is practically nothing to do at this hour!!!




Ok, "yam cha" is only possible if there's company to accompany

and cyber cafe's are such a repetition...

not to mention movies, which is like once per movie~

and then what? supper?! (... eating every night won't get me fat)

trust me, I've tried gorging down a full course meal and still I'm slender (hehehe)

and all I could do was to browse the internet for some flash games to play...
