Simmons the Teenager

There was once a teenager by the name of Simmons, Simmons is poor. His family is broken up and thus he is living a poor life. But that didn't stopped him from entering high school. He attends classes with a messy hair, a torn shirt, holed pants and worn out shoes.

One Sunday morning, out of curiosity of what's going on across the street, he decided to walk over the street to this Church. This Church is known to be attended by decent and properly dressed faithfuls. He was clad in his normal attire to classes; donning a messy hair, a torn shirt, holed pants and worn out shoes. As he enters the Church, the congregation noticed his dressing. Simmons walked to find a seat among the pews on the left row but couldn't find one.

The congregation looked at his antic, trying to find a seat then on the right row. Yet Simmons couldn't find one so he just sit on the carpeted walkway in the middle facing the preacher. Then the Deacon dressed in a formal suit, from behind walked up towards Simmons. The Deacon is aged, being the wisest as the old saying goes "As wise as an old man", silenced the congregation and even making the preacher speaking softer with pauses as his cane made a ticking sound against the floor.

By now the congregation grew even restless as the Deacon was right next to Simmons. The Deacon held his cane with both his hands; he paused for a moment, looking at Simmons seated on the clean carpet with both his hands supporting his weight as he leaned back a little, oblivious that the Deacon was right next to him.

The Deacon slowly, and steadily went down and sat right next to him with humility.

The preacher then continued his sermon saying;

"What I will preach to you; you may not remember in future;
but what you have just seen you will remember...
because most of the time the only Bible people are ever going read are the ones on us"
