Team Motivation
by Peter Grazier

Factors that influence team motivation:-
  1. Purpose
    - A clear purpose, focus, or mission being in line with everyone's needs

  2. Challenge
    - The level of difficulty, a periodic stimulation in the form of a worthy challenge

  3. Camaraderie
    - Addressing the human needs, frequent praising of each others' contributions, mutual support and understand them

  4. Responsibility
    - Responsibility and authority to maintain motivation over longer periods of time, can be demotivating if the consequences of error or failure are too great

  5. Growth
    - Moving forward, learning new concepts, adding to their skill base, and stretching their minds

  6. Leadership
    - A good leader can be a catalyst in the short term but the best leaders create the conditions for the team to motivate itself, understanding their team members have needs
